We see all people across the entire African continent and everywhere
throughout the world combining their collective energies as one to
contribute to the greater good of Africa.
How would your life change if you lived on a dollar a day?
Right now the African continent is in crisis on four fronts: the AIDS epidemic, crushing debt, shrinking development assistance, and restrictive trade relations.
Building self-sustaining models for the betterment of the African people at the fundamental levels of life.
Mother to Child Program
African United Partnerships is working with the Ministry of Health in Cameroon
to build a nation-wide system of prevention, education, women’s services, case
management, and counselor training. The government of Cameroon has developed
a national policy for the prevention of Mother to Child Transmission, creating centers
around the county. As partners, we will create a culturally sensitive and contextually
appropriate reproductive health, family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention
program.
HIV/AIDS Care Stations
During the Mother to Child projects, we will integrate Official AIDS Care
Stations (OACSs). Working closely with NGOs on the ground to develop these
stations, we will add OACSs to three private schools located in the republic of Congo.
Our goal by the end of 2010 is to develop a minimum of 21 official HIV/AIDS Care
stations within the Mother to Child system.
Integrative Medicine Clinics
IMCs are clinics that use local herbs and resources to reduce the cost of treating those susceptible to HIV/AIDS retention. IMCs are designed to
use a combination of traditional and non-traditional medicine along with interactive
/integrative training to reduce the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS.
Tent Schools
Today, forty-six percent of all Africans are illiterate. African United
Partnerships plans set up tent schools for children in jungle areas
where it is difficult for the participations to travel to nearby schools,
giving them a comfortable environment in which to learn.
Community Resource Centers
Starting in 2008, CRSs will be set up in areas of development to
educate and train women and children on the uses and functionality
of the computer in a library-type setting. The center will also have
a variety of books that can be loaned out much like libraries in
the U.S.
Micro Business Loans
Starting in 2008, the Micro Business Loan initiative will support those who wish to start a business in Africa through financial support via micro loans. We will provide the resources, training and continued assistance necessary to build a successful business that supports both the entrepreneur and the local economy.
Toys for children
Dolls, trucks and educational toys will be given to children in each area developed. Toys bring smiles and lift children’s spirits. One organization African United Partnerships will partner with is Smile of a Child, which currently sends toys to children in Haiti.
